What exactly is thermal paper

Thermal paper has a special printing layer that contains dye. This dye reacts to heat and darkens when the printer heats the print head. This creates black-and-white prints. Because of this technology, thermal paper works perfectly with Fichero's A4 Thermal Printer.

Normal paper without dye will not work in a thermal printer. Without dye, the printer cannot make a print and the paper remains blank.

What to use thermal paper for

Thermal paper is specially designed for thermal printers that work with heat instead of ink. This offers several advantages. You don't need ink, you can print quickly and easily and the prints are instantly dry so you don't have to worry about smudges. The prints remain legible for two to three years if you do not expose the paper to direct sunlight, heat sources or chemicals.
